Creation care and Christian discipleship

A Œpop-up series of 5 Tuesday night discussions at St Jude¹s Anglican Church in Carlton led by 2 members of 9am.

Where? St Jude's Hall (enter from Keppel St)

When? May 21 to June 18, 2013

   6.45 pm: a light meal (soup, bread and fruit)
   7.30 to 9.00 pm: main session.

Session themes
1. Why creation care?
Some evangelical Christians are going green. What's going on?

2. The Biblical basis for creation care.
God's kingdom coming: transit to heaven or a renewed earth?

3. Creation care and Christian vocation.
Living as God's image bearers in God's good creation.

4. Creation care in everyday life.
The many ways of becoming greener Christians.

5. Creation care in the public arena.
Gospel witness in the transition to a sustainable world.

Presenters: Dr Ian Barns and Ms Wendy Williams.

Ian worked for many years as an academic in the School of Sustainability at Murdoch University in Perth, WA. He now lives in Melbourne, is married to Wendy and hopes and prays that Christians will take up the challenge of living more sustainably.

Wendy is a long-time member of St Jude's. She has worked in science communication policy and practice for many years and recently retired from the Victorian public service.
